The Society for Old Testament Study (SOTS) is a learned society, based in the British Isles, of professional scholars and others committed to the study of the Old Testament.
Conferences
The Society for Old Testament Study meets twice a year for conferences (an online winter meeting and an in-person summer meeting). Information about past meetings and future meetings is available.
Most recently, the Society in its 108th year was delighted to host its 101st Summer Meeting, which took place in Nottingham 13th-16th July 2026. Information about this conference is available here.
Publications
The Society commissions publications in the field of Old Testament Study, including an annual Book List and regular monographs and other volumes.
